Blessed Carlo Acutis Body Displayed For Veneration

Blessed Carlo Acutis' Body Displayed for Veneration

Incorrupt Remains of Millennial Saint Draw Crowds

Assisi, Italy (June 2, 2022)

The tomb of Blessed Carlo Acutis was opened for public veneration Thursday ahead of the computer-programming prodigy's beatification. Acutis, who died of leukemia in 2006 at the age of 15, is the first millennial to be beatified in the Catholic Church. Visitors to Assisi can once again see the incorrupt body of the young saint, which has been on display since October 1, 2020.

Acutis' body is remarkably well-preserved, with his skin still intact and his eyes open. His body was exhumed in 2019 and found to be in an incorrupt state, which is considered a miracle by many. His beatification is scheduled to take place on October 10, 2020, in Assisi.

Acutis was a devout Catholic who had a strong love for the Eucharist and the Blessed Virgin Mary. He was also an avid computer programmer who created a website to catalog Eucharistic miracles. Acutis is a role model for young people, and his story is a reminder of the power of faith and the importance of following one's dreams.
